Election of Board for 2010

The current slate of officers has agreed to run again for 2010.  There is one exception, George Kunak who resigned his position as VP of Membership in September.

A current member, Sue Ann Ng, would like to be considered for the position but as the current Constitution reads she would be ineligible to serve as an officer.

Tom Brand proposed a very specific amendment to the Constitution.  “In the year 2009, for the election of Vice-President II – Chairperson of the Membership Committee, the following Constitution requirements in Section III.B.5

Must have been a member in good standing for at least one year at the time of assuming office.

Must have attended a minimum of four meetings during that year.” shall be waived.

The proposed wording was voted on and passed unanimously.

A vote on the slate of officers will be held at the November meeting.

June Moon 2010

Marty is the race director for this race

Ginny has agreed to raise funds for ALS

Hangover 2010

Approximately 30 runners have registered thus far

Park permit, police, Compuscore and portapottys have been confirmed

Online registration is available through Metro Race Forum, Active.com and PracticeHard.

Need RRCA insurance but they (RRCA) are late with 2010 forms.

USATF – LDR meeting

Baxter reported that the Deer Path Park race was a “bloody mess”, several runners went down.  Team scoring is still in progress.  This task has been made very difficult with USATF headphone restrictions and citizenship verification.

Upcoming Championship Races (check the USATF website for details):

Giralda

A8K

West Windsor

January 16th is the USATF awards dinner

USATF membership numbers become invalid on January 1, 2010.  New numbers are necessary in order to be scored properly in 2010.  Especially important for registrations for CJRRC’s Hangover.  Interested runners should check the USATF website for the status of number availability.

New Business

Home News Tribune featured our own Dr. Bob Boyd in an article.

Kathy Calabretta mentioned a new type of shoe, Karhu (they actually had a booth at the NYC Marathon expo).  She suggested we bring them in to speak to the club.  Mike Metzger will get in touch with them for 2010.
