Incentive Plan to Increase Club Participation in USATF Championship Races In order to increase club participation in the USATF-NJ Long Distance Running Championship Series, CJRRC will provide merchandise incentives to all members who run on our teams.
There are 16 Championship Races in 2012. Any club member who runs in 10 or more of these races is eligible for a CJRRC Team sweatshirt. Any club member who runs in 7-9 is eligible for a CJRRC Team long sleeve tee- shirt.
If a member signs up to run and we do not have enough runners to field a team in that age category, that race will still count in his or her total for a shirt. We will keep a current total for each runner throughout the year.
IMPORTANT—Age Group Criteria Change from 2011 The new rule which goes into effect for the 2011 Individual Grand Prix and all USATF-NJ Mini Series will use the athlete’s age on December 31st of the competitive year to determine his/her age group for that entire year. There is no longer any waiving of points until the competitor’s birthday. Everyone will have a complete year of competition. Athletes should note that this change only applies to the Individual Grand Prix and all USATF-NJ Long Distance Running Mini Series. For races and the team championships, the athlete’s age on the day of competition still dictates their age division at the race. For additional information, please see www.usatfnj.org.

NBGP Rules: Masters Athletes who Change Age Groups during a Calendar Year 1. An athlete’s age on January 1 will determine his/her NBGP age group for that entire year, except as otherwise permitted in #2 below. 2. An athlete who changes age-groups after Jan 1 during any calendar year may be scored in his/her NEW age group for that year ONLY if he/she request, in writing (within email is preferred) to the USATF-NJ office, PRIOR to January 1 of the competitive year, that his/her name be moved into the new age group as of his/her birthday that year. In so doing, the athlete understands and agrees that his/her total NBGP scoring for the year will not begin until his/her birthday. 3. The above policy applies only to NBGP scoring, not to individual and team Masters Championship placing in any race. Masters place in their age division according to their age on race day.
